November-December 2020 Message to Families from the Office of Parent & Family Engagement

Families:

You continue to play a critical role in your student's success during their college years. November and December are times of simultaneous persistence and planning as they finish out the fall semester and begin to set their eyes on spring. Please encourage your Bull to complete these critical tasks to ensure their ongoing enrollment and progress at USF.

Students should:

• Check their OASIS account for items (i.e. holds) that may prevent their ability to register for next semester. For a list of USF hold, visit this website: https://www.usf.edu/undergrad/students/holds.aspx
• Identify their registration time slot in OASIS, under the “Student” tab. This date/time will be available on October 5^th.
• Use Schedule Planner to make a preliminary schedule before their registration date.

• Register for spring courses in OASIS based on their assigned time slot.

• Reapply for Financial Aid and submit their FAFSA for the next academic year (2021-2022). USF’s priority deadline is January 1, 2021
• Check their final fall grades in OASIS. If needed, they should connect their academic advisor for guidance.

Please share these important dates and deadlines for November and December:

• November 2: Spring registration for degree-seeking students begins
• November 11: Veterans Day holiday, no classes & USF offices closed
• November 25: Last day of classes on campus
• November 26-27: Thanksgiving holiday, no classes & USF offices closed
• November 30: Classes begin online; Non-degree registration begins for Spring 2021 and Winter Intersession
• November 30-December 4: Test Free Week
• December 4: Last day of online classes
• December 5-10: Fall final exams (online only)
• December 11: Fall meal plans end; International students submit Spring medical insurance documents or payments
• December 11-14: Fall Commencement
• December 14: Start of Winter Intersession classes; Drop/Add begins
• December 17: Drop/Add ends for Winter Intersession
• December 18: Fall grades visible in OASIS
• December 23: Winter Intersession withdrawal deadline
• December 24-January 1; Holiday and Winter Break; no classes & USF offices closed
