Families:
As your student settles into the semester, we recognize that the spring often brings opportunities to seek more or different support, build more intentional connections and community, as well as the need to invest in their well-being. Encourage your student to seek out these key resources and support services for their ongoing success.
- Academic Success Center – Encourage your student to take advantage of tutoring, learning support, and study group opportunities this semester!
- Students still looking to find their community should join the Network! This is an excellent opportunity for them to form connections with peers who have similar lived experiences, interests, and aspirations.
- Virtual offerings are taking place each day! Encourage your student to download the USF Student and Family Guide in the Go Bulls Guides app and attend events that interest them.
- Wellness USF - Your student doesn't need to figure it all out alone. Resources such as the USF Counseling Center, Success and Wellness Coaching, and others can support whether your student is on or away from campus.
Please remind your student of these key COVID behavioral expectations for those visiting campus.
- Individuals coming to campus are required to participate in the USF Daily Symptom Check. This brief survey must be completed every day before they come to campus. The tool helps you monitor your own health and maintain a healthy environment for all members of the USF community and will alert a university health care provider to contact you to determine if you need to be tested for COVID-19 or need other support.
- Those that complete the daily survey and are approved to return to campus will receive a green check (CampusPass) that will allow you to enter USF facilities. Be prepared to show this CampusPass anywhere on campus. No one is allowed on campus without a CampusPass.
- Individuals are also now required to self-report if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who is COVID-19 positive. Individuals should self-report through the Daily Symptom Checker app and notify their instructors and/or their supervisor.
- It is imperative that everyone completes the Daily Symptom Checker honestly, stay home if symptomatic or possibly exposed and faithfully report infection or exposure. Failure to do so will result in a referral to Student Conduct or Human Resources and could result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
- Because cases of COVID are on the rise, USF will increase our surveillance capability by expanding our random testing protocol to a larger percentage of the population. If you are living on campus, taking in-person classes, or coming to campus on a regular basis, you will likely be contacted for random testing. Your cooperation is expected.
Please encourage your student to complete these critical tasks to safeguard their ongoing enrollment at USF.
- Schedule a meeting with their academic advisor to stay on track and remove any items (i.e holds) that will prevent them from registering for next semester. Encourage them to ask about any changes to the registration or scheduling process!
- Apply for on-campus housing and renew their dining contract for next year.
